About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geospatial Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain systems and pipelines that process, analyze, and visualize geospatial data at scale. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams—including software engineers, data engineers, and product managers to create impactful solutions that leverage geospatial insights for real-world applications
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize geospatial data pipelines and storage solutions.
- Collect, clean, and transform diverse geospatial datasets (satellite imagery, LiDAR, vector/raster data, GPS, etc.).
- Develop algorithms and tools for spatial analysis, geocoding, routing, and map visualization.
- Integrate geospatial capabilities into enterprise products, dashboards, and APIs.
- Work with cloud-based environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) to deploy scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support machine learning models involving geospatial data.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with relevant standards.
- Stay up to date with advancements in GIS, remote sensing, and geospatial technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Engineering, Computer Science, Geography, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of professional experience in geospatial data engineering, GIS development, or similar.
- Strong proficiency with GIS software and libraries (ArcGIS, QGIS, GDAL, PostGIS, GeoPandas, Shapely).
- Experience with Python and/or JavaScript for geospatial processing and visualization.
- Familiarity with spatial databases and data formats (GeoJSON, shapefiles, raster, vector).
- Experience building APIs or services that expose geospatial data.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with Ruby on Rails or geospatial Ruby libraries (e.g., RGeo).
- Experience with modern mapping libraries and platforms (e.g., Mapbox, Leaflet, ).
- Experience with remote sensing, LiDAR, or satellite image processing.
- Familiarity with machine learning applications for geospatial datasets.
- Cloud-based experience with geospatial services (AWS Lambda, Google Earth Engine, Azure Maps).
- Background in cartography, spatial statistics, or location intelligence
