Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

We seek a seasoned professional who views infrastructure and operations as software engineering challenges. Our mission is to create platforms for the delivery and management of all services in safe, reliable, and scalable ways.

The ideal candidate will consistently challenge conventional thinking and leverage new technologies to develop innovative platforms and tools for engineering teams. In this role, you will make significant decisions impacting the creation of modern banking technology.

As part of our team, you will design and architect new solutions, finding creative ways to optimize existing ones. Your goal will be to improve agility when managing hundreds of microservices infrastructures in a stable and reliable manner.

This position requires someone who:

  • Believes in automating DevOps and SRE aspects like infrastructure provisioning, deployment, observability, incident lifecycle, uptime SLA, etc.
  • Is bold enough to challenge conventional thinking and open to getting challenged.

Key responsibilities include:

Day-to-Day Activities
  • Working with Kubernetes clusters hosted in cloud environments.
  • Utilizing InfrastructureAsCode tooling like Terraform and Ansible to manage resources.
  • Collaborating with development teams throughout the life cycle to develop software for reliability and scalability. Coaching teams on SRE best practices.
  • Troubleshooting priority incidents, facilitating blameless post-mortems, and ensuring permanent closure of incidents.
  • Performing analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions.
  • Designing automated software upgrades, change management, and release management solutions.
  • Developing and driving adoption for greater self-healing and resiliency patterns.
  • Performance and cost optimization for infrastructure.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation for the team's tooling and 24x7 support coverage as needed.

Requirements include:

Must-Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, or similar.
  • 3+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience with administering Kubernetes clusters.
  • Experience with managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Direct production operations experience in cloud environments.
  • Experience contributing to technology and product strategy.
  • Experience leading capability-building initiatives across diverse areas such as infrastructure and operations automation, observability, incident management, architecting HA systems, and other core engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving operational efficiency and transparency within growing engineering organizations.
