Job Title: Cloud Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

  • Our organization is seeking a skilled cloud operations specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure, scripting/programming, monitoring, and cost optimization.
  • They will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Experience with native tools like AWS Cost Explorer, CloudWatch, GCP Billing, as well as third-party monitoring platforms is required.
  • Additionally, they must have a strong understanding of SRE concepts, including reliability, scalability, monitoring, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the go-to expert for monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure costs.
  • Closely track daily/weekly usage, spending patterns, and billing reports.
  • Develop and maintain scripts/automation for cost reporting, resource clean-up, and efficiency improvements.
  • Work with engineering and product teams to right-size compute, storage, and database resources.
  • Identify and implement reserved instances, savings plans, auto-scaling policies, and storage lifecycle policies to reduce spend.

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP services.
  • Experience in cloud cost monitoring & optimization.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language.
  • Understanding of SRE concepts: reliability, scalability, monitoring, and automation.
