Human Resources Strategic Leadership

The role of Deputy General Manager Human Resources is a critical component of our organization's leadership structure. This position is responsible for spearheading the human resources function across various functions, with a primary focus on Quality and Operations at our Indore Manufacturing site.

This strategic HR business partner will provide direction and guidance to the Site Leadership team, ensuring that human resources strategies and policies are aligned with business objectives. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing human resources initiatives, managing harmonious industrial relations, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to influence management and drive business outcomes. A strong understanding of labor legislations and excellent analytical abilities are also essential requirements for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic HR Partner – Plan, implement, and evaluate employee relations and human resource programs and practices, partnering with business stakeholders to understand their needs and align people strategy accordingly.
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding – Identify manpower requirements based on business priorities, plan budgets, and hire talent within TAT to ensure business continuity. Ensure best-in-class onboarding experiences for new joiners.
  • HR Manpower Planning, Budgeting – Assist in budgeting processes for HR items (manpower costs, Opex Costs) and headcount requirements. Monitor actual spend vs. approved budgets, optimize manpower budgets, and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Performance Management – Drive continual performance management and annual compensation reviews for the site. Train line managers on goal setting and sharing performance feedback.
  • Talent Management- Implement periodic talent management reviews, execute development/retention plans, and create succession plans for critical roles.
  • Learning & Development – Promote a culture of learning and high performance. Identify training needs, prepare training calendars, and evaluate training efficacy.
  • HR Compliance & Statutory Obligations - Ensure HR legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable statutory laws, maintaining records, and representing the organization at various associations related to Human Resources.
  • Labour Management - Maintain harmonious and productive IR environments, track productivity, and identify scope for cost savings. Ensure statutory compliances are followed by manpower vendors.
Required Skills and Qualifications

A minimum of 15+ years' experience handling HR functions, preferably in a manufacturing setup. MBA HR or Masters in Human Resource Management qualifications are highly desirable.

Strong business acumen, excellent management skills, and the ability to influence management are essential requirements for this role. A deep understanding of labor legislations and excellent analytical abilities are also necessary.
