Electrical Maintenance Specialist

This role involves directing and coordinating all electrical maintenance activities in the plant, including participating in maintenance programme preparation and implementation, examining equipment performance, and providing recommendations to enhance maintainability and minimize maintenance cost.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Maintenance Planning:
    • Develops and implements detailed maintenance procedures and practices ensuring safe execution.
    • Ensures timely implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
    • Maintains accurate records for equipment and conducts regular condition monitoring surveys.
    • Monitors performance and maintenance cost for mechanical equipment, providing recommendations to improve maintainability and reduce costs.
    • Suggests alternative maintenance frequencies based on equipment history or regular monitoring surveys.
    • Collaborates with other departments to coordinate inter-discipline work activities and arrange plant shutdowns.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Evaluates requirements for new equipment or major repairs, proposes alternatives, and raises recommendations.
    • Ensures no material shortages and delivers materials meeting required standards and specifications.
    • Optimizes consumables consumption according to the annual business plan.
  • 5S & Safety:
    • Ensures daily 5S activities on the shop floor.
    • Ensures use of personal protective equipment and safety gear by all employees.
    • Conducts pre-operational briefings to prevent accidents and ensure a safe workplace.
  • Innovation, Automation & Continuous Improvement:
    • Drives continuous improvement projects to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
    • Performs quality control analysis and suggests process changes.
    • Promotes innovation and encourages team members to participate in improvement projects.
    • Ensures compliance with IMS standards and maintains proper documentation.
  • People Management:
    • Timely completion of department performance reviews.
    • Completes skill assessments and improves individual skill index.
    • Encourages employee engagement and participation.
    Requirements:
  1. Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical, Instrumentation
  2. Total Years of Experience: 15-20 years in Cold Rolling Mill Electrical Maintenance department
