OpenStack Infrastructure Specialist

As a highly skilled OpenStack infrastructure specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration and maintenance of large-scale OpenStack environments. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deploy, Configure and Manage: Utilize Kolla-Ansible and TripleO to deploy, configure, and manage complex OpenStack environments.
  • Ceph Storage Expertise: Design, deploy, and maintain Ceph storage clusters to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Storage Management: Manage block storage (Cinder), file storage (Manila), and object storage (such as Ceph RGW/S3 or equivalent).
  • Infrastructure Optimization: Maintain and optimize OpenStack control plane and compute resources for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Containerized Applications: Manage and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
  • Integration and Monitoring: Integrate OpenStack environments with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
  • Cloud-Native Solutions: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud-native solutions.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Participate in CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes and application deployments.
  • Documentation and Support: Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures, and provide support for capacity planning, incident management, and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related issues.

This role requires a deep understanding of OpenStack components, networking, storage, and virtualization technologies. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of hands-on experience in OpenStack deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting, including proficiency in Kolla-Ansible and TripleO, and Ceph storage setup and management.
