OpenStack Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced OpenStack engineer to join our team. As an OpenStack Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure using OpenStack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and manage OpenStack environments using Kolla-Ansible and TripleO.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Ceph storage clusters ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Manage block storage (Cinder), file storage (Manila), and object storage (such as Ceph RGW/S3, Swift, or equivalent).
  • Maintain and optimize OpenStack control plane and compute resources for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Manage and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
  • Integrate OpenStack environments with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud-native solutions.
  • Participate in CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes and application deployments.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Support capacity planning, incident management, and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related issues.

Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of hands-on OpenStack experience including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience deploying OpenStack using Kolla-Ansible (container-based deployment) and TripleO (bare-metal deployment).
  • Relevant 3–5 years of experience with containerization technologies primarily Docker.
  • Relevant 2–3 years of experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift administration.
  • Proficiency in Ceph storage setup and management for block, file, and object storage (S3, Swift, or equivalent).
  • Strong proficiency in Ansible for automation and configuration management.
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems administration preferably RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts relevant to cloud environments VLANs, VXLANs, routing, firewalls, load balancing.
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • RHCE certified.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
