Global Mobility Operations Specialist

About the Role

This is a global role responsible for managing the end-to-end mobility process within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a passion for operational design and process improvement, with a strong desire to drive change and optimize current processes.

The successful candidate will be part of the broader reward function within HR, supporting all matters relating to mobile employees and immigration, including one-way relocations, long-term assignments, Japan expatriates, and short-term assignments.

A great opportunity for an individual who can manage cost projections, collaborate with tax service providers, manage compensation accumulation, and optimize global mobility processes.

  1. Cost Projections and Compliance: Manage the preparation of cost projections and other related documents in respect of mobility requests, ensuring compliance with global tax and social security legislations.
  2. Tax Reporting and Equalization: Collaborate with tax service providers to manage expatriates tax reporting and tax equalization on a global basis.
  3. Compensation Accumulation: Manage the compensation accumulation process for mobile employees and drive the required coordination with internal teams and external vendors to ensure employer compliance.
  4. Process Optimization: Optimize current global mobility processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and overall employee experience during relocations and assignments.
  5. Immigration Procedures: Collaborate closely with vendors to initiate and manage immigration procedures effectively.
  6. Vendor Invoicing: Oversee the clearance of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  7. Expatriates Payroll: Assist in the formulation and computation of expatriates payroll and allowance, including COLA index update and housing allowance review.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: 5-7+ years experience in mobility tax/compensation/general administration.
  • Desire to Improve: Strong desire to improve and streamline processes, as well as drive change.
  • Risk Management: Keen focus on risk and controls.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and high-quality standards relating to documentation, processes, and the control environment are essential.
  • Initiative and Problem-Solving: Confident self-starter who can work under pressure, using their own initiative and with the drive to work to deadlines and see tasks through to completion.
  • Tech Competence: Tech-savvy; essential to be highly competent in MS Office products, and experience working with modern tools/platforms highly desired (Alteryx, Tableau, JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
  • Dataset Management: Experience in managing large datasets.
  • Automation Expertise: Track record leveraging tech to automate and enhance business processes.
