Facilities Manager Role

The position of Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of current and new machinery/equipment at a manufacturing site.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new procedures to minimize downtime through proactive and predictive maintenance.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze department key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Nationalize imported machinery spare parts to reduce costs and delivery times without compromising quality.
  • Upgrade and modify machines, processes, and related systems.
Health Safety Environmental Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) programs at the site.
  • Evaluate Permit To Work (PTW) compliance in coordination with the Health Safety Environment department.
  • Collaborate with the Health Safety Environment department to integrate safety into business operations and develop a leadership culture in Process Safety Management.
Capital Expenditure Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with production, quality control, and technical teams on capital expenditure requirements.
  • Prepare a capital budget.
  • Design, cost, source, install, commission various equipment and facilities.
Other Key Tasks:
  • Manage energy consumption to decrease carbon footprints by sourcing power from renewable energy sources and implementing energy-saving initiatives.
  • Develop vendor/supplier/contractor relationships and liaise with external OEM-authorized agencies.
  • Analyze various costs associated with spares, breakdowns, and work on process improvements.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering/Project/Maintenance profiles.
  • Strong technical knowledge and interpersonal skills.
  • Good industrial relations and labor legislation understanding.
