Business Development Lead

We are seeking a seasoned Business Development professional to spearhead our growth strategy in the petrochemicals and oil exploration sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans for the petrochemicals vertical, focusing on oil rigs and exploration assets.
  • Identify and evaluate high-potential acquisition opportunities, particularly underperforming oil rigs in India and internationally.
  • Drive mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategy from target identification to integration, ensuring seamless deal execution.
  • Establish and maintain a robust pipeline of potential acquisition targets in coastal regions globally.
  • Nurture existing relationships and build new strategic connections with key stakeholders in the global petrochemical and oil exploration sector.
  • Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams – legal, finance, technical – to drive successful deal outcomes.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at international forums, trade shows, and industry conferences.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to align expansion strategies with overall business objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in business development, M&A, or strategy in the petrochemicals/oil & gas sector.
  • Proven track record of successful deal-making, especially with international assets or companies.
  • Deep understanding of upstream oil & gas operations, particularly rig operations.
  • Strong global network in the petrochemical space, with a focus on coastal countries with active oil rigs.
  • Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • MBA or relevant technical qualification preferred.
