Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Grants Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of LCIF and LCIF India's grant making funding, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role involves collaboration with program managers, finance team members, and external stakeholders to ensure effective utilization of grant funds.

Duties and Tasks:

  1. Maintain accurate financial records for all awarded grants, verifying grantee financial reporting and records are accurate.
  2. Prepare and submit financial reports to grantors as required, monitoring grantee grant expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and grant terms.
  3. Ensure all expenses are allowable, allocable, and reasonable according to grant guidelines, reconciling grant-related accounts and resolving discrepancies.

Budgeting and Analysis:

  1. Assist in the development and monitoring of grant budgets, providing financial analysis and forecasting for grant-funded projects.
  2. Communicate effectively with Lion members, Lion leaders, and technical advisors, resolving concerns raised within set timeframes.

Compliance and Reporting:

  1. Ensure compliance with all regulations related to grant management, including those specific to India.
  2. Prepare and submit timely financial reports to grantors and regulatory bodies, coordinating audits and providing necessary documentation to auditors.

Industry Knowledge and Research:

  1. Develop and maintain knowledge of industry best practices, conducting research and analysis of NGOs and charitable organizations.
  2. Engage with Lion members and regional offices to stay updated on industry trends and developments.

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting, finance, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You possess 4-7 years of relevant experience, including grant management, account review, or similar financial responsibilities.
  • You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in compliance and financial analysis from a grants perspective.
  • You're willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10-15% of the time.
