Cloud Cost and Performance Optimization Expert

Our organization is seeking an experienced Cloud Cost and Performance Optimization Expert to lead initiatives that optimize cloud infrastructure costs and enhance application performance for our clients. The ideal candidate will design and implement best-in-class cloud architectures that balance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud pricing models, cost management tools, and cloud performance tuning, scalability, and monitoring tools. Additionally, experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation is highly desirable.

We are looking for a skilled professional who can collaborate with development, operations, and finance teams to align cloud optimization strategies with business goals. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead cloud cost optimization assessments by analyzing client cloud usage, billing data, and workloads.
  • Design and implement cost-effective cloud architectures and resource right-sizing strategies on AWS.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend scalable solutions leveraging cloud-native services.
  • Develop automated monitoring, alerting, and governance frameworks to continuously track cloud spend and performance.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Solution Architect, Cloud Engineer, or similar role.
  • Proven expertise in AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.
  • A strong understanding of cloud pricing models, cost management tools AWS Cost Explorer and budgeting.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud performance tuning, scalability, and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Application Insights, etc.).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Cloud certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect is highly preferred.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus. Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.
  • Familiarity with FinOps practices and cloud financial management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
