Job Role and Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position is to develop and implement battery-based energy storage systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

  1. Develop electrical designs for battery-based energy storage systems, incorporating Power Conditioning Systems (PCS), Battery Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) designs.
  2. Stay up-to-date with applicable codes, standards, and regulations in the USA, conducting thorough reviews to ensure compliance.
  3. Lead technical reviews to guarantee adherence to relevant documents and installations.
  4. Understand fundamental aspects and main characteristics of current battery technologies, relating them to battery parameters.
  5. Design and prepare Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and integration test plans for BESS systems.
  6. Conduct comprehensive technical reviews of vendor-provided documents.
  7. Manage bids and projects throughout their lifecycle, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  8. Perform electrical testing using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and standardized procedures.
  9. Attend manufacturer-approved training sessions on equipment, staying current with industry advancements.
Requirements

Candidates must possess:

  1. At least 2 years of experience in BESS system design and development.
  2. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with PhDs in similar fields welcome.
  3. Ability to read and comprehend complex electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
  4. Proven electrical knowledge/training experience of at least three years in BESS systems.
  5. Strong organizational, communication, analytical, planning, time management, and customer service skills.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  7. Excellent client management, team management, and process management skills.
  8. Knowledge of additional electrical and PV software is an added advantage.
