Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager - Legal to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the legal affairs and risks of the organization, helping business lines and functions structure transactions, products, contracts, and set up procedures along best practices, negotiating arrangements and legal terms with third parties, resolving legal problems, and proposing and advising on solutions that help the business lines complete their transactions/resolve issues within the organization's operational/legal framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage litigation (both Civil & Criminal matters), Arbitration, Mediation, NCLT, Rent Matters, Cheque Dishonor, Criminal Complaints, and other disputes.
  2. Manage proceedings for return of property seized by the Police from the Accused, pursuant to the complaint filed against the Accused.
  3. Handle issues pertaining to Trademarks of TCIL/SOTC/TCI & other TC Group Companies.
  4. Rend legal advice on various Business Agreements / Projects.
  5. Strategize & drive to maximize recovery value.
  6. Communicate with Government and Regulators, Authorities, etc.
  7. Provide advisory services for Brand equity and image building.
  8. Update the management regarding the contingent liabilities and the litigation costs.
  9. Advise on the property matters pertaining to obtaining the premises on Leave & License basis.
  10. Finalize the Criminal Complaints in cases of Fraud Cases and coordinate with Security Consultants to ensure that the Complaints are filed.
  11. Assist and render legal advice in POSH matters.
  12. Vet business contracts on a regular basis pertaining to Foreign Exchange, Corporate Travel, E-biz, and other Departments.
  13. Vet Data Protection Agreement and GDPR compliant documents.
  14. Vet Agreements under Special Projects and Assignments to be undertaken by the Management from time to time.
  15. Vet and Draft critical Agreements, giving advise on Critical Agreements during Covid – 19 Phase.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in law, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You should also be able to think strategically and provide sound advice to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Law or related field.
  • Minimum 12-15 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
