Responsibilities:

As our Compliance Consultant, you will work directly with the founders and legal advisors to shape and execute the regulatory and compliance strategy of a next-generation digital lending platform. Your inputs will be critical in ensuring that our business is aligned with RBI regulations and industry best practices as we scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on compliance frameworks for digital lending, including RBI's Digital Lending Guidelines and relevant NBFC norms.
  • Support licensing and regulatory filings (e.g., NBFC, AA integration, Account Aggregator, LAS structures).
  • Structure partnerships and product flows to remain compliant while supporting product innovation (e.g., co-lending, LAS, FLDG, digital KYC).
  • Review consumer and lender agreements, privacy policies, and loan documentation to ensure legal enforceability.
  • Develop and implement compliance SOPs for underwriting, disclosures, grievance redressal, and digital consent.
  • Act as a key advisor during investor diligence, audits, and external legal engagements.
  • Stay updated with evolving RBI regulations and market practices in lending, BNPL, and LAS.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in fintech legal/compliance roles—ideally in digital lending, NBFCs, or lending-as-a-service platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of relevant RBI regulations including DL Guidelines, LAS norms, KYC/AML, fair practices code, and data privacy.
  • Strong understanding of how digital lending products operate across underwriting, disbursal, recovery, and collections.
  • Experience collaborating with legal counsels, regulators, and product teams.
  • Prior experience helping early-stage startups with regulatory structuring is a strong plus.
