Job Title: Lead Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled database professional to join our team as a Lead Database Administrator.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with PostgreSQL, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.

The role involves managing large databases, ensuring data security and integrity, and providing technical support to users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage PostgreSQL databases in production environments.
  • Implement data backup and recovery strategies.
  • Optimize database performance using indexing and tuning techniques.
  • Maintain robust monitoring and alert systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database operations.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production environments.
  • Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, architecture, and tuning.
  • Strong expertise with HA and replication solutions (Patroni, repmgr).
  • Hands-on experience with PITR, disaster recovery, and cluster rebuilds.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and automation.
  • Solid understanding of database security and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience handling critical incidents.
Bonus Skills:
  • Experience with logical replication and foreign data wrappers.
  • Familiarity with cloud-managed PostgreSQL services.
  • Familiarity with connection pooling and proxy tools (PgBouncer, HAProxy).
