Lead Oracle Database Administrator

Job Description:

The Senior Oracle Database Migration Specialist is responsible for leading the end-to-end migration lifecycle of Oracle databases across various platforms.

This includes assessment, planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization.

This role requires strong hands-on experience in Oracle Exadata and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments.

The ideal candidate should have expertise in backup/recovery, replication, and monitoring.

Leadership and project management skills are also essential to ensure successful migrations with minimal downtime.

  • Define and drive migration strategy, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations across Data Center-to-Data Center, AWS-to-AWS cloud setups, Azure-to-Azure cloud setups, and more.
  • Perform end-to-end database backup and recovery using Rubrik and RMAN.
  • Implement delta data synchronization strategies for near-zero downtime migration.
  • Use Oracle Enterprise Manager for database performance monitoring, health checks, proactive alerting, and migration tracking.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the migration lifecycle, define migration strategy, plan and execute database migrations, perform backup and recovery, implement data synchronization strategies, and use Oracle Enterprise Manager for performance monitoring.

Must-Have Skills:
  • 12+ years of Oracle Database experience, 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning.
  • Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) implementation and management.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native database solutions in AWS and Azure.
