Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist

The role is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of our company's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Implement and monitor Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Maintain and update Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental documentation, reports, and records.
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of required documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with industry regulations (ISM, ISO, MARPOL, SOLAS, etc.).
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections in office and onboard vessels.
  • Organize training sessions and awareness programs for employees.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support incident and accident investigations by compiling reports and follow-up actions.
  • Cooperate with different departments to ensure best practices are implemented.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Promote a strong safety culture within the organization by actively engaging employees.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Marine Studies, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental role within the shipping or maritime industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with international maritime safety and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of ISM, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 (ISO 45001) standards.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Work Environment:

  • Office-based role with occasional visits to ports, vessels, or offshore sites.
  • May require travel for audits, inspections, and training sessions.
