Legal Director Role

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to spearhead our Legal function in India. As a key member of our Management team, you will directly report to the Managing Director of Alfa Laval India.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading, developing and securing a high-performing team, aligning with the company's culture and goals.

This role involves providing proactive legal advice to support decision-making across various business segments, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide legal expertise and support in commercial contracts, R&D, product liability, M&A and intellectual property through sound commercial, legal and ethical risk assessments.
  2. Partner with management on potential legal matters to maximize business opportunities.
  3. Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts.
  4. Implement and continuously improve related policies and processes, template agreements and supporting tools.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Law degree (LL.B or higher) from a law university with 10-15 years of relevant experience.
  • In-house legal experience with a multi-national company.
  • Negotiating complex commercial contracts with multi-national companies.
  • Strong commercial instincts and excellent business collaboration skills.
