The Role of an Assurance Supervisor
- Lead a team to provide exceptional client service, ensuring timely and high-quality results for large and small companies across various industries.
- Develop strong relationships with team members to understand and solve complex business challenges for clients.
- Gain insight into clients' needs, expectations, and industry-specific issues, including accounting and control systems, employees, company values, and GAAP and GAAS regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with the audit approach, methodology, and tools used by RSM US.
- Perform audit procedures and tests in accordance with the overall audit plan, ensuring proper documentation of work performed.
- Identify areas of risk and accounting and auditing issues, collaborating with engagement teams to resolve problems.
- Conduct research on technical accounting issues.
- Develop industry expertise and stay current with industry developments.
- Prepare audit reports and management letters.
- Exercise professional skepticism, judgment, and adhere to the code of ethics while working on engagements.
- Ensure that documentation meets quality standards.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with RSM audit professionals.
- Provide supervision and development training for associates.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables to ensure service excellence through prompt responses to internal and external clients.
- Provide timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations, including coordinating the development and execution of the audit work plan and client deliverables.
- Understand RSM US and RSM Delivery Center's line of business service capabilities and work as a team to provide integrated service delivery.
- Commit to ongoing education and professional development.
- Participate in a range of projects and collaborate with multiple teams.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, initiative, and timely completion of work.
- Provide oversight to senior associates and associates, including training and development activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce or MBA
- Qualified Chartered Accountant / ACCA / Licensed CPA
- 4-7 years of relevant experience working in an accounting and audit-related field
- Strong technical skills in accounting, including GAAP and GAAS
- Strong multi-tasking and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, as the position requires frequent communication with RSM International clients and United States-based engagement teams
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in the Insurance industry is preferred
- Strong data analytical skills, including advanced Excel skills (Vlookups, pivot tables, and basic formulas), Word, and PowerPoint
