Sous Chef Job Description

This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen. It requires a high level of culinary expertise, leadership skills, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing kitchen shift operations to ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies and standards.
  • Estimating daily production needs and communicating these to kitchen personnel.
  • Assisting the Executive Chef with all kitchen operations and preparation.
  • Preparing and cooking foods of all types for regular guests or special functions.
  • Maintaining purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related field.
  • Or, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major; 2 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related field.
