Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in the capacity of Operational Support Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our edge network infrastructure, including Akamai CDN, WAF, and botman.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth operation of our edge setup, including monitoring and troubleshooting issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve problems and maintain high levels of performance.
  • Develop and implement rules to block API threats and ensure data security.
  • Set up logging and monitoring systems to provide real-time insights into system performance.
  • Design and deploy dashboards and alerts to track key performance indicators.

Deliverables

  • Implement an always-available AWS-based Envoy gateway routing traffic from Akamai.
  • Achieve a 95%+ blocking rate for test attacks using WAF.
  • Establish dashboards showing real-time gateway and origin health metrics.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent technical degree with strong computer science fundamentals.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of edge networks (like Akamai) and experience with Envoy or nginx.
  • Familiarity with WAF technologies.
