Senior Data Engineer

Our team seeks a Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of robust data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in digital channel activities, data engineering, and cloud technologies.

The selected professional will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines that process channel activity data from various sources, such as Hadoop and Terradata.

The successful candidate will work on AWS cloud infrastructure, leveraging services like Pyspark, Glue, EMR, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, and other services like Iceberg, as well as orchestration tools like Airflow to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.

Python will be used for building automated data engineering solutions and data transformations. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data from various digital channels is effectively ingested and processed.

Contributions to architecture decisions related to data lakes, data warehouses, and big data ecosystems are also expected.

Data quality, governance, and integrity across all data systems must be ensured. Continuous learning and adapting to new technologies and industry best practices to improve data processes are key responsibilities.

Required skills include:

  • AWS: Strong hands-on experience with AWS technologies.
  • Python: Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline development.
  • Big Data Platforms: Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop and Terradata.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret data from different digital channels.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex data-related challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for documentation and collaboration.

Desirable qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, certifications or experience in AWS Cloud or relevant data engineering tools, experience in working on Snowflake, and knowledge of ingesting real-time data (Apache Kafka).
