Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled data governance specialist to support our enterprise data initiatives by ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and quality of data pipelines across data platforms. This role will be critical in establishing trusted data foundations that drive business intelligence, analytics, and operational reporting.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in data quality practices, data management principles, and collaboration with engineering teams to support PII tagging, data masking, and access governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data governance frameworks and policies.
  • Work closely with data owners to enforce data definitions, classifications, and data quality rules.
  • Perform data profiling, issue identification, and remediation coordination.
  • Support the onboarding of new data assets (cataloging, lineage, and stewardship assignments).
  • Develop and maintain metadata, business glossary, and data catalog entries in DG Tools like Collibra or similar.
  • Implement and monitor data quality metrics and validate data quality performance against established targets.
  • Provide training and support to business users in using governance tools effectively.
  • Document data processes, standards, and lineage to support governance and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Operations of Data Governance.
  • Hands-on experience with data management tools (e.g., data catalogs, MDM systems, data quality platforms).
  • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, and data classification practices.
  • Technical skills in SQL, Python/Java, REST APIs for tool integration and automation.
  • Excellent communication and ability to liaise between business users and technical teams.
