Job Title: Risk Governance Manager

This role requires a highly skilled professional to lead People Risk governance, operational risk controls, and compliance oversight within the HR function.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in HR Governance, Risk & Control, or Operational Risk roles in financial services.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • 1LoD – HR Oversight & Challenge
    1. Embed robust risk & control practices into HR operations and workflows.
    2. Identify, assess, and mitigate People Risk within HR processes.
    3. Provide independent challenge and advisory support to HR teams on control effectiveness.
  • 2LoD – Risk Governance & Control
    1. Oversee HR governance and control frameworks across regional and global teams.
    2. Facilitate regular interaction between 1LoD and 2LoD to align on risk priorities.
    3. Monitor and expand People Risk-related KRIs/KPIs; use data analytics to inform recommendations.
    4. Conduct threshold testing, monitoring, and present findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional & Reporting
    1. Develop and maintain People Risk dashboards, reports, and presentations for senior HR and Risk leaders.
    2. Enhance control methods to prevent significant operational risk events.
    3. Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and headcount planning for HR.
    4. Track and report HR cost and expense accruals, preparing monthly/quarterly analysis.
    5. Manage creation and refresh of Statements of Work (SOW) between global entities.
    6. Deliver ad-hoc data analysis and executive summaries for management decision-making.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Mandatory Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in HR Governance, Risk & Control, or Operational Risk roles in financial services.
  • In-depth understanding of ORM frameworks, RCSA processes, and People Risk management.
  • Proven ability to improve processes and strengthen control environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in HR Operations within a global bank.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI) at a beginner level.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology to automate processes.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and service orientation.
