Job Overview

The Merchandiser plays a crucial role in managing the end-to-end merchandising process for woven garments, serving as the key link between buyers, suppliers, and the production team. The position demands strong coordination, costing knowledge, and the ability to deliver products that meet buyer specifications, quality standards, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with designers to develop seasonal collections based on customer requirements.
  • Develop samples, negotiate prices, and confirm orders with customers.
  • Process material orders within tight deadlines while improving budget and costs.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, work independently, and adapt to changing environments and challenges.
  • Gain experience in handling small and high-value businesses.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Apply technical knowledge of woven garment manufacturing, including shirts, jackets, bottoms, and other categories.
  • Lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Show a high level of ownership and commitment to achieving results-driven outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Apparel Merchandising, Fashion Technology, or equivalent.
  • 1-8 years of experience as a Merchandiser in a woven garment factory, preferably with customer-handling experience.
  • Strong understanding of woven fabrics, garment construction, costing, and production processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/MIS systems.
  • Able to multitask, handle pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
