Job Title: Training & Development Professional

The role of the Senior Trainer - Banking Operations is to craft comprehensive training programs, enhancing operational effectiveness and compliance knowledge within banking staff. This includes ensuring employees possess necessary skills and knowledge to perform roles efficiently while meeting regulatory and organizational standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Training Design & Delivery:
    • Craft and deliver training programs covering core banking operations, including account services, payments, trade finance, AML, KYC, and regulatory compliance.
    • Conduct induction training for new joiners and refresher courses for existing staff.
    • Utilize various training methodologies, including classroom, virtual, and blended learning.
  • Content Development:
    • Develop training materials, such as manuals, e-learning modules, presentations, and job aids.
    • Regularly update training content in line with policy, system, or regulatory changes.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with department heads and SMEs to identify training needs and performance gaps.
    • Act as a liaison between operations teams and learning & development to ensure alignment.
  • Evaluation & Reporting:
    • Measure training effectiveness through assessments, feedback surveys, and on-the-job performance.
    • Maintain accurate records of training attendance, assessments, and certifications.
  • Mentorship & Leadership:
    • Mentor junior trainers and support their professional development.
    • Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and best practice forums across operational teams.

Candidate Profile

Skills & Knowledge (e.g., Capability, Traits required for the role):

  • Strong knowledge of banking products, operational workflows, risk, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt training styles to suit different learning needs.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative, with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.

Education & Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field; professional certifications preferred.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning tools is an advantage.

Length & Type of Experience:

  • 10 – 15 years of experience in banking operations, with at least 3 years in a training or leadership role.
