Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Music Listener Retention Specialist. This key role focuses on developing and implementing strategies to prevent user churn and re-activate lapsed listeners.

About the Role

In this challenging and rewarding position, you will be responsible for understanding why users churn and develop effective strategies to save them or bring them back. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify at-risk users, design and launch targeted campaigns, and measure their impact on user retention.

Key Responsibilities

At-Risk User Intervention (Churn Prevention)

  • Identify Churn Signals: Collaborate with data analysts to leverage predictive models and your own analysis to pinpoint listeners showing signs of disengagement or a high risk of churning.
  • Conduct Qualitative Research: Engage directly with at-risk users through surveys and interviews to uncover the root causes of dissatisfaction, forming powerful hypotheses for your campaigns.
  • Design & Launch Save Campaigns: Develop and execute proactive, multi-channel campaigns triggered by at-risk behavior, aiming to re-engage users before they cancel their subscriptions.

Lapsed User Reactivation (Win-Back Strategy)

  • Own Win-Back Campaigns: Architect and manage end-to-end strategies for bringing back churned subscribers, including segmenting users based on past listening behavior and time since churn.
  • Craft Compelling Offers: Test a mix of creative offers and hyper-personalized content to find the perfect reason for a listener to return.
  • Test and Learn Rigorously: Continuously A/B test offers, messaging, and channels to build a playbook of cost-effective methods for reactivating different user cohorts.

Analytics & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Measure Key Performance Indicators: Own and report on core KPIs for user retention, including Churn Rate, Save Rate, Reactivation Rate, and campaign ROI, translating performance data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Provide Feedback to Product Teams: Act as a key feedback loop to Product and Content teams, providing clear data and qualitative insights on why users are leaving, helping them prioritize features that address core churn drivers.
  • Collaborate with Core Retention Team: Work closely with the main lifecycle team to ensure seamless user experiences, aligning your 'save' messages with their 'engagement' messages.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of focused experience in churn management, user reactivation, or save strategies, preferably in a B2C subscription or mobile app business.
  • Innovative Problem-Solver: You think creatively, challenge assumptions, and excel in building industry-leading churn-mitigation strategies.
