The Plant Quality Head is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and control processes at a manufacturing facility for LV electrical panels.

This role ensures compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality objectives.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards for LV electrical panel manufacturing.
  • Monitor and control quality processes across all stages of production, from raw material inspection to final product testing.
  • Lead a team of quality professionals, drive continuous improvement, and maintain the highest standards of product reliability and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards for LV electrical panel manufacturing.
  • Process Oversight: Monitor and control quality processes across all stages of production, from raw material inspection to final product testing.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians to achieve quality objectives.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL, BIS) and customer-specific requirements for LV electrical panels.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for process optimization, defect reduction, and quality improvement using tools like Six Sigma, Lean, and root cause analysis.
  • Testing and Validation: Oversee testing procedures, including dielectric tests, temperature rise tests, and short-circuit withstand tests, to ensure product reliability and safety.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality specifications and conduct supplier audits as needed.
  • Customer Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related customer queries, complaints, and audits.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate quality records, prepare reports, and present quality performance metrics to senior management.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential quality risks and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to mitigate them.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training programs for employees on quality standards, processes, and best practices.
Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required. A master's degree or certifications in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, CQE) are desirable.

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in quality management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the LV electrical panel or similar electrical manufacturing industry, is expected.

Strong understanding of LV electrical panel design, manufacturing processes, and testing standards (e.g., IEC 61439, UL 508A) is essential.

Expertise in QMS, Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC), proficiency in quality tools like FMEA, Pareto charts, and root cause analysis, and strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
