We are seeking a skilled legal professional to join our team as Vice President, Counsel VI. This role will be based in Pune, India.

This position will involve providing general commercial, regulatory and litigation legal support for all our legal entities in India across Pune and Chennai.

Under the supervision of the Head of Legal, India and the broader Legal Department, you will provide sound, pragmatic legal advice and liaise with internal and external counsel on advisory and contentious matters.

You will also act as a point of contact for businesses on legal issues and escalate them as needed.

Familiarity with Software Technology of Parks India (STPI) and Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Regulations, Department of Telecommunications Regulations and general contract laws is required.

You will review and negotiate technology and non-technology-related contracts (e.g. service level agreements, outsourcing, general procurement and consultancy contracts, etc.).

In addition, you will escalate regulatory, policy or contractual breaches and manage projects and meet timelines.

Maintaining legal reports and managing external counsel relationships and budgets are also key aspects of this role.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

·       Native or bilingual fluency in English (written and oral) is required - additional local language skills would be beneficial.

·       Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.

·       Accustomed to working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

·       Strong organization and time management skills.

·       Admitted to practice in India (any state) - additional qualifications outside India would be beneficial (UK, US or Australia).

· years minimum of total work experience as a qualified lawyer either at a reputable Indian or international law firm.

·       In-house experience would be beneficial.

·       General banking and finance experience would be beneficial.
