Business Development StrategistJob Overview:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving innovation and growth by identifying and exploring emerging business opportunities within the IoT ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Opportunity Identification & Landscape Analysis:
  • Conduct continuous scanning of the IoT ecosystem to identify emerging technologies, new business models, competitor moves, and untapped market spaces.
  • Develop insightful research reports on long-term trends, disruptions, and potential threats to the current business.
Market Validation & Feasibility Assessment:
  • Design and execute validation processes for new opportunity hypotheses, utilizing customer research, expert interviews, competitive analysis, and prototype testing.
  • Develop robust financial models and business cases to assess the market size, potential ROI, and strategic value of new opportunities.
Strategic Incubation & Business Growth:
  • Lead the initial incubation phase for validated opportunities, defining product-market fit, building MVPs or prototypes, and running pilot programs with early customers.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources to accelerate the incubation process.
Ecosystem Engagement:
  • Build a network of external contacts to serve as a radar for emerging innovation and potential partnership opportunities.
Strategic Communication:
  • Clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to senior leadership to inform strategic investment decisions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy roles such as corporate strategy, venture capital, management consulting, product management, or business development within a technology context.
  • Proven experience in market analysis, new venture development, or managing early-stage innovation projects.
  • Deep understanding of the IoT technology stack, competitive landscape, and key market drivers.
  • Superior analytical and financial modeling skills, with experience building business cases from scratch.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to thrive in ambiguity.
  • Outstanding communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Preferred:

Experience taking a new product or business from concept through launch.
