
Head of Vertical Market Development

The role involves gaining a comprehensive understanding of the vertical transportation market in India, promoting local presence and generating sales through business development. Key responsibilities include building relationships with customers and regulators, leading professional teams in strategic locations, and delivering services according to management guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development:
- Familiarize with the customer, competitor, authority, and regulation VT landscape in India
- Provide market input for updating and fine-tuning of the VT strategy for India
- Business Development and Sales:
- Elaborate a business development strategy to implement the growth strategy provided by the BU LCC and South Asia, meeting agreed sales targets
- Promote as a leading VT authority in India
- Create and identify sales leads through networking, proactive industry observation, and research, and effective sales channels
- Manage customer relationships effectively, understanding their structure, needs, and constraints
- Scale the business through continuous extension of the customer base and customer retention
- Prepare sales presentations and sales materials in cooperation with the BU LCC and marketing department
- Coordinate with global VT experts for joint customer presentations and visits
- Collaborate and coordinate with other subsidiaries
- Monitor upcoming events such as trade fairs, exhibitions, and conferences and prepare and coordinate participation in coordination with the BU LCC and senior management
- Operations and Resources:
- Ensure smooth and efficient operations in accordance with quality management system and to the full satisfaction of customers
- Be responsible for the profit and loss of VT activities in India
- Prepare regular progress reports
- Plan and manage resources effectively
- Recruit, develop, and lead further VT experts
- Ensure that VT experts receive necessary training for their individual roles and authorization levels and in accordance with their personal development plan
- Manage internal authorization in accordance with quality management system
Required Skills:

- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a go-to-market attitude and ability to connect with people
- Drive for shaping business development and sales activities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in relevant local languages and English (min. B2 level)
- Good presentation skills
- Strategic and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent telephone skills
- MS office software skills
- Mobility, flexibility, and willingness for business trips in the region
- Team player
Desired Skills:
- Basis knowledge of lift technology and industry
- Familiarity with inspections and certifications of VT; further training, as required, will be provided upon joining
Education:
- Bachelor Engineering degree (electrical, mechanical)
- Master degree would be beneficial, particularly a business-oriented one
