Accessibility Tester Role

Candidate must have a strong background in accessibility testing with proficiency in performing tests for websites, web-based applications, and mobile applications.

  • Testing of websites and web applications across various operating systems and devices, adept at writing test cases, documenting WCAG violations with necessary insights on fixes.
  • Ability to create an accessibility report and obtain stakeholder sign-off.
  • Covering web and mobile accessibility requirements.
  • Closely collaborating with stakeholders (development, business analysis, etc.) to provide suggested fixes for mitigating accessibility issues.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in various testing methodologies.
  • Business requirement understanding independently.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for test case uploads, defect management, reporting & dashboards creation, and traceability (preferred).
  • Creation & Review of test artifacts and other project documents, identifying process gaps and working to improvements.
  • Estimation, project planning, defect triaging, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Requirement analysis, test designing, test execution, and reporting for accessibility testing projects.

Primary Skills:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Color contrast testing, keyboard testing, browser zooming testing, and screen reader testing using tools like Contrast Checker or assistive technologies.
  • Strong Skills for accessibility on Windows, iOS, Android devices.
  • Sound knowledge of WCAG 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 guidelines, and section 508 requirements.
  • ADO for defect and test management.
  • Project/test management.

Secondary Skills:

  • Relevant certifications for accessibility testing but not mandatory.
  • Experience with JAWS, Axe, ANDI, etc.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless accessibility testing.
