Business Development Manager Role

The role of a Business Development Manager is pivotal in driving growth and mobilizing funds across assigned branches or territories. This position requires a combination of leadership, sales acumen, and relationship management skills to ensure consistent growth in deposits and other fund-based products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead fund mobilization efforts by acquiring new customers and retaining existing depositors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve monthly and annual deposit targets.
  • Identify high-value customers and institutional depositors to strengthen the society's fund base.
  • Guide and support Branch Managers and Business Development teams in deposit mobilization efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, businesses, and community leaders.
  • Drive marketing initiatives, savings drives, and local campaigns to enhance deposit base.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Monitor fund inflow and ensure the achievement of area-level deposit growth objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines in all mobilization activities.
  • Participate in leadership meetings, contributing to regional and organizational business planning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience in sales, deposit mobilization, banking, or cooperative banking.
  • Proven track record in fund mobilization and achieving deposit targets.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to drive and inspire branch teams towards achieving common goals.
  • Sound knowledge of financial products, savings schemes, and cooperative sector operations.
