Network Site Planning Engineer

Job Summary

As a member of Comcast's team, you will be responsible for network site planning, equipment deployment planning, deployment management, and basic design of network instances. This role requires the ability to complete network deployment, manage contract teams in deployment, provision, and support wireless and Ethernet transport regional networks serving residential and commercial customers. You will respond to network incidents, determine the resources needed for correction, and correct or lead a team involved in resolving the incident. In-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in your discipline are essential. You will usually determine your work priorities and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement practices and procedures for network installation, maintenance, and operation.
  • Develop and implement test and acceptance criteria for network elements.
  • Schedule equipment activations, customer-affecting network maintenance, and develop documents of customer networks for network users.
  • Meet with potential customers, design solutions, work with vendors on pricing, and implement solutions adaptable to customer need changes.
  • Exercise judgment during incident management, site design, network configuration, and network activation to ensure efficient use of funds and time.
  • Design network site planning for multiple regional network sites.
  • Represent Regional Company interests with providers to ensure timely delivery of circuits.
  • Develop and maintain network element documentation and inventory.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory or network spare equipment for rapid restoration.
  • Order, track, and report on all internal and external wired and wireless connection activation activities.
  • Develop cost proposal documents.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary.
