Software Development Lead Analyst Position Overview

This is a key role that will translate software requirements into functions using Mainframe, ETL frameworks, Database technologies.

The chosen candidate will apply technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle, gather accurate requirements and work closely with stakeholders to prioritize tasks.

  • Mainframe Technologies: Utilize COBOL, DB2, CICS, and JCL to support, maintain and participate in software development.
  • ETL Frameworks: Develop software using Talend, Abinitio, AWS Glue, PySpark, and Python.
  • Critical Issue Resolution: Provide expertise, tools, and assistance to operations, development, and support teams for critical production issues and maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot production issues, diagnose the problem, and implement a solution as the first line of defense in finding the root cause.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Work with the support team, development team, and business team to efficiently address customer issues.
Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this position, you should have:

  • Mainframe Experience: Strong experience with Cobol, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
  • SQL Knowledge: Strong SQL knowledge on OLAP DB platforms (Teradata, Snowflake) and OLTP DB platforms (Oracle, DB2, Postgres, SingleStore).
  • Database Solutions: Develop high-quality database solutions.
  • Analytical Skills: Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements and design skills.
  • ETL Frameworks: Experience in ETL frameworks like Talend or Abinitio or AWS Glue.
  • Software Development Phases: Experience in software development phases including design, configuration, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-scale, business-centric and process-based applications.
  • Teamwork: Proven experience working with diverse teams of technical architects, business users, and IT areas on all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Time and Project Management: Strong time and project management skills, with familiarity with agile methodology including SCRUM team leadership.
  • Desired Qualifications: 3-5 years in an application development role, Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited university, or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in software development in lieu of the bachelors degree education requirement.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with expected overlap with US hours as appropriate. The position is primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India, with flexibility to work remotely as required.
