Job Description:

As a Sales Director for the Beverages category in Nigeria, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and market share in a competitive environment. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in sales, trade marketing, and route-to-market development across multiple geographies.

The ideal candidate will have at least 12+ years of work experience in leading Foods and Beverages companies, with a strong track record of designing and implementing trade activation programs to win share in competitive markets.

You will oversee the development of sales strategies for the Nigeria Beverages category, identifying trade insights and growth opportunities to drive incremental volume growth. This includes undertaking complete ownership of Beverages monthly sales plan achievement (Volume, Distribution, and Secondary KPIs) for all channels of Nigeria.

A key responsibility will be to develop a robust trade promotion plan via a nuanced approach of brand, pack, channel, and geography strategy and cascade to regional teams with granular plans & milestones. You will also collaborate with Marketing to roll-out Shopper interventions and Trade Activation plans to dial-up Visibility, Shelf share, and Tertiary sales.

In addition, you will continually evaluate and optimize the Beverages GTM by developing deep channel, customer, and category understanding via trade visits. Effectively utilizing Trade Spends budget to achieve category goals is also essential.

The role requires excellent leadership skills, with the ability to coach and develop the field sales team members through in-market presence and role-model Olam values. You will also be responsible for Field-force Sales Incentive plans and R&R programs.

Requirements:
  • At least 12+ years of work experience in leading Foods and Beverages companies
  • Extensive experience in sales, trade marketing, and route-to-market development
  • Demonstrated experience of designing and implementing trade activation programs to win share in competitive markets
  • Tier 1 Premier Institute MBA preferred
