Job Title: Data Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Data Infrastructure Specialist to manage and maintain our technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, experience with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP), Apache Kafka, Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing database systems and recommend improvements for optimal performance.
  • Manage and maintain high availability and performance of CDP clusters, ensuring seamless data flow.
  • Administer and monitor Apache Kafka clusters, including topic management, performance tuning, and security configurations.
  • Perform database administration for relational and NoSQL databases, including backup, recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell scripting and Ansible to streamline processes.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers to optimize data pipelines and ensure data integrity across the organization.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across all data platforms, protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the data stack in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another relevant field AND a minimum of 6 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  2. Outstanding academics with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge effectively.
  3. Fluency in English is required for clear communication.
  4. Experience with Relational or NoSQL database technologies is essential.
  5. Demonstrated ability to implement new technologies effectively and efficiently.
  6. Strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a team setting.
