Database Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Database Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex data systems supporting millions of customers with Cloud Native principles and best practices.

  • Design, develop, and deploy database infrastructure to ensure highly available, secure, performant, and scalable database systems.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning to optimize system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to infrastructure changes, deployment automation, monitoring enhancements, and production changes.
  • Engage in on-call rotations for production systems, respond to incoming alerts, and create operational playbooks to drive change within the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on development & operational experience with Postgres (AWS Aurora Postgres).
  • Experience with AWS Data Migration Service and extensive performance monitoring, troubleshooting, & tuning experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages for DevOps automation (Java, Python, Shell) and knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Splunk, Wavefront is a plus.
