Mainframe Cobol Developer Job

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Cobol Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex business applications using COBOL programming language.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cobol Programming: Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications that meet business requirements.
  • JCL Management: Create and maintain JCL scripts to manage batch jobs for data processing, ensuring optimal performance and error handling.
  • Database Integration: Design and develop DB2 queries to interact with databases, integrating COBOL programs with DB2 for data retrieval, insertion, and updating.
  • File Management: Work with VSAM files to store and retrieve data efficiently, ensuring seamless interaction between COBOL programs and VSAM files.
  • Transaction Processing: Develop and maintain CICS-based applications, optimizing transaction processing in a CICS environment, focusing on real-time banking applications.
Requirements:
  • Mainframe Cobol Experience: 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Cobol development, with a strong understanding of COBOL programming language, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
  • Banking Domain Knowledge: At least 4 years of experience in the banking domain, with a deep understanding of banking regulations, business processes, and security standards.
  • Agile Methodology: Experience with Agile software development methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and Safe.
