  • Job Title: Senior AS/400 Support Specialist
  • Location: Mumbai
  • Experience: 6-9 Years
  • Job Type: Contract to Hire

Mandatory Skills: IBM AS/400, COBOL, RPG Programming, DB2 databases, L2/L3 Support

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Architecture: Familiarize yourself with the system architecture diagram of the AS/400 application, including its interface mechanisms with upstream and downstream systems.

Environment Details: Document the various AS/400 environments, OS levels, and database versions.

Technologies Used: COBOL, RPG programming, DB2 databases, CL commands, and communication protocols specific to AS/400.

Code Walkthrough: Perform a walkthrough of complex, critical, or error-prone COBOL, RPG code modules, including any customized routines.

Integration: Understand how the AS/400 application integrates with other systems.

Monitoring Setup: Knowledge of current monitoring mechanisms, log directories, and housekeeping processes on AS/400 servers.

Compliance Requirements: Identify applicable compliance and regulatory requirements for the AS/400 system and ensure adherence.

Support Scope: Document dependencies with L2/L3 support teams and interactions with infrastructure teams for AS/400.
