Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Culinary Team Lead to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role:

  1. This position is responsible for managing the culinary team, including directing and evaluating direct reports.
  2. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in food preparation, knowledge of ingredients, and an understanding of culinary terms is essential.
  4. A strong focus on cost control, inventory management, and efficient use of resources is required.
  5. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
  6. Oversight of all kitchen areas, including planning, preparing, and serving meals, as well as ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  7. Maintenance of accurate records, reports, and schedules to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs and evaluates direct reports, providing coaching and guidance as needed.
  • Maintains excellent food knowledge and understands culinary terms.
  • Prepares and follows company recipes, ensuring quality and consistency in taste.
  • Works efficiently and productively, completing tasks as assigned.
  • Coordinates and supervises team members, assigns tasks, and delegates responsibilities.

Fundamental Skills:

  1. Chef de Partie or similar culinary experience.
  2. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  3. Able to motivate and inspire team members.
  4. Demonstrated expertise in food preparation, presentation, and plating.
  5. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  6. Awareness of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  8. Familiarity with food budgeting and inventory management.
