Culinary Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the highest standards.

• Prepare all basic food items for the menu requested by your supervisor.
• Maintain advanced knife handling skills.
• Be able to work in any section of the kitchen.
• Have a good understanding of culinary terms and principles.
• Be able to read, understand, follow, and prepare recipes.
• Work efficiently and productively to meet deadlines.
• Always follow Public Health guidelines and company expectations within your section.
• Maintain your assigned area in preparation for inspections.
• Report for duty at assigned times and follow supervisor instructions.

This position is responsible for cost containment through proper use, handling, and maintenance of records, reports, supplies, and equipment.

• A minimum of 4 years experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service and at least 2 years as a Culinary Specialist (shipboard experience preferred).
• A culinary school degree is required.
• Strong management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and people skills.
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of personalized service principles and techniques.
• Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
• Intermediate computer software skills required.
• Possess a good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
