Menswear Buying Director

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Menswear Buying Director. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading our menswear buying team, developing strategic plans to optimize procurement processes, and negotiating favorable contracts with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement buying strategies to ensure timely acquisition of goods and services and negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee the buying team, collaborate with internal departments, and drive efficiency in the buying process.
  • Negotiation and Contracting: Secure favorable terms and pricing by negotiating contracts with suppliers, evaluating vendor capabilities, and maintaining relationships for long-term partnerships.
  • Market Trends and Supplier Performance: Monitor market trends and supplier performance to make informed buying decisions.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in apparel buying and product development.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong negotiation skills, proven experience in vendor management, and proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical abilities, decision-making capabilities, effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing strategies and industry best practices.
