Engineering Leadership Opportunity

We're an ambitious, AI-native company in the prop-commerce sector, and we're seeking a Founding Engineer to collaborate with us in building robust systems that cater to real users.

This is a hands-on IC role that involves creating initial versions of complex systems and then scaling them into reusable patterns as the team grows.

  • Achieve technical excellence by designing data models, writing production code, and shipping fast.
  • Develop high-throughput content processing capabilities, including ingestion pipelines, storage, delivery, with observability and cost control.
  • Implement identity, privacy, and trust features, such as consent-driven flows, signed tokens, rate limits, audit trails, and abuse prevention.
  • Build a data platform to normalize external data, model entities and relationships, and expose clean APIs.
  • Ship Flutter apps (buyer/seller) and ReactJS dashboards with reliability and performance budgets.
  • Ensure operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, automated tests, incident playbooks, and a sane release cadence.

  • Backend: Java 23, Spring Boot 3, Python
  • Database: PostgreSQL
  • App: Flutter
  • Admin & Seller Web: ReactJS
  • Cloud: AWS (EC2, RDS, S3)
  • AI Tooling: OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, vector search (pgvector/Pinecone), LangChain/LlamaIndex (pragmatic, not bloated).

Requirements:

  • 6 - 10+ years building production systems as the primary builder. Exceptional earlier-career builders welcome with proof.
  • Hands-on Java + Spring Boot experience, plus comfort with Python.
  • Exposure to Flutter or ReactJS in production.
  • Strong systems thinking: data models, performance budgets, failure handling.
  • Security & privacy instincts: PII handling, consent flows, audit trails.
  • Excellent written communication: crisp docs, READMEs, and runbooks.

Career Path:

  • Start as Head of Engineering. Over time, choose your track:
  • Principal/Distinguished IC (maximizing technical leverage), or
  • CTO/VP Eng (when a team exists and needs leadership).
