Accounting Professional Role

Mission:

To support the accounting department in producing accurate and timely financial statements by preparing and recording detailed AP, AR, and other general accounting transactions.

Authority:

This position reports to a senior manager within the accounting team.

Key Skills:

Technical Expertise:

  • Proficiency in Excel and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software.
  • Understanding of cloud-based reporting, AR, and AP systems.

Personal Qualities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with changing deadlines and responsibilities.
  • Must be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to multitask effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting roles.
  • Hands-on experience in month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial audits.

Responsibilities:Month-End & Year-End Processes

  • Review and account for AP and corporate expense reports.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliation and verify accuracy.
  • Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support revenue recognition and refunds processes.
Accounts Payable Processing
  • Review and approve POs and invoices in Nexonia.
  • Process weekly check runs for vendor payments.
  • Initiate wire requests and maintain W-9/W-8 information for vendors.
Audit Assistance
  • Prepare AP and other accounting documents requested for audit purposes.
  • Work directly with auditors to address questions and concerns.
  • Perform walkthroughs of accounting tasks as requested by auditors.
Fixed Assets
  • Ensure the accuracy of Fixed Assets additions and retirements.
  • Maintain the Fixed Assets Module and verify depreciation calculations.
Government & Business Filings
  • Ensure government filings and business renewals are completed on time.
  • Maintain Business Filings documentation.
