About the Role

You will be expected to contribute actively towards the development of innovative products and technologies in the skin care category.

The aim is to enhance GCPL's scientific knowledge base which will help us create strong product differentiators in the market place.

Role Specifications

  • You should have thorough understanding of pre-formulations, proto-typing and product development of various dosage forms.
  • Strong technical and hands-on experience in at least couple of these categories is required.
  • Expect to think and innovate disruptive ideas in relevant categories.
  • You will develop and work on relevant projects with academia to build and develop science base within GCPL, and also exploit learnings to our commercial advantage.
  • Participate in pilot plant and plant-level scale-up activity.
  • Document the product development pathway by means of suitable reports and dossiers.
  • Interact and coordinate with different functions for various activities.
  • Exposure to wet and instrumental analysis of relevant product categories is necessary.
  • You will utilize measurement techniques to characterize and predict product behavior over time.
  • Understand and follow protocols/test methods used to measure functional and aesthetic performance.
  • Analyze and evaluate competition products.

Internal & External Stakeholders

  • This role requires regular interaction with Innovation/Design Team as well as Marketing functions.
  • You will report to the Product Category Head and interact with Global R&D Head to build relevant programs by interfacing with academia.
  • You are expected to interact with academia/higher institutes of learning in establishing and working on projects that are category relevant.

Challenges In this Role

  • The basic challenge will be to demonstrate strong innovative capability within the category.
  • You are expected to build a vibrant NPD pipeline of projects within R&D based on existing consumer insights/category challenges.
  • You must be a self-starter, and display a strong inclination and passion to develop a host of Disruptive innovative projects which shall feed the NPD pipeline.
  • Candidate must be able to quickly spot product opportunities based on consumer insighting/domain knowledge and define a quick roadmap for rapid product development.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary ranging from ₹25 lakhs to ₹35 lakhs per annum depending on your experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • M Pharm in Pharm Chemistry / Pharmaceutics, MSc Organic Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry, M.Tech chemical engineering/ Ph.D in Pharmacy/ Chemistry
  • 7-10 years' experience in the field of formulation development preferably in the field of Hair, Skin/Household Insecticides / Hygiene/Air Care / Deodorant/Fine fragrances, Sexual wellness
  • Analytical abilities coupled with an understanding of and ability to use statistical tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
