Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analysis Specialist to join our team at Travelex. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business analysis principles and be able to apply them to drive business value in a commercial IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Develop and maintain business requirements documents and ensure that they are aligned with business objectives.
  • Work with development teams to ensure that solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Provide input to technical architecture and investigate solution options to ensure that business and technical needs are fulfilled.
  • Build relationships with business owners, Product and Marketing, internal IT team and Engineering team.
  • Work with Product Delivery, Support and Change teams in an agile environment to bring products to market.
  • Stay abreast of industry standards and collaborate across communities.
  • Take responsibility for IT solutions delivered and manage traceability from requirements through to implementation.
  • Collaborate with developers and SMEs to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
  • Guide senior business management towards accepting change brought about through IT, showing understanding, imagination and creativity.
  • Identify and assess options for new or improved processes and present them, with recommendations, to decision makers at senior management level.
  • Recognise and exploit opportunities for improvements to IT systems and delivery.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations/decisions on technical options as appropriate, actively contributing to Travelex's technical strategies.
  • Ensure the smooth integration of new business processes with the organisational structure and culture.
  • Coordinate changes across multiple business units to deliver the full solution.
  • Write and speak fluently on all aspects of work and communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Produce accurate, timely and relevant MI for peers and managers as required.
  • Represent the business internally, working closely with Business Owners for systems, establishing themselves as the go-to person for the systems they support.
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure business analysis, development, test and implementation activities are visible and in line with agreed customer expectations.
  • Build confidence and acquire an understanding of the business.
  • Work closely with the business unit's IT team to provide support to business, development, test and support colleagues in the smooth integration of new business processes/applications.
  • Be proactive and regular in communication with other areas of IT and the business whose work impacts, or depends upon the team, in relation to business analysis.
  • Be proactive in the provision of feedback and the delivery of ideas to develop and improve requirement gathering/generation, and the BA role relating to IT and the business unit IT.
  • Actively communicate and seek feedback from colleagues and customers.
  • Ensure feedback to line manager outlining general activities.
  • Be active in Technical/Business Analyst communities, proactively seeking opportunities to serve in leadership roles.
  • Ensure appropriate and comprehensive support arrangements are in place with internal and external teams and partners.
  • Work to agreed day-to-day objectives, and participate actively in regular one-to-one meetings with all line managers, and work to develop personal skills.
  • Support and encourage support for 'people initiatives'.
  • Play a participative part in Team Briefings and Meetings.
  • Participate in the process of innovative change within the Technical Analyst Communities.
  • Be a/become a subject-matter-expert in the business domain and related IT services and systems.
  • Be interested in gaining an in-depth knowledge of business and technical areas and a detailed technical understanding of the supporting IT services and applications.
  • Undertake any necessary training associated with the duties of the post and participate in training and development procedures.
  • Comply with Travelex policies and standards, including all Company Health and Safety policies and legislation in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Manage expenses in accordance with Company Expense Policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties commensurate with their capability.
