Product Development Opportunity

About the Role

The position involves understanding consumer habits & needs and translating them into product solutions. You will be responsible for developing formulations and products that meet business project briefs.


  • Develop formulations and products that meet consumer needs and business project briefs.
  • Create prototypes and lab experiments to deliver new product development briefs.
  • Design stability testing and monitoring protocols, interfacing with analytical laboratories, and executing basic analytical tests.
  • Write formulation and process specifications and support the technology roll-out to sourcing units.
  • Prepare product technology dockets and development reports.
  • Collaborate with factories, suppliers, and global R&D teams.
  • Generate product/raw material specifications in PLM/Interspec.
  • Monitor competitor activity and make technical recommendations.
  • Contribute to patents and publications as needed.
  • Identify and support value improvement opportunities for product portfolios.
  • Ensure compliance with internal Unilever protocols while developing product solutions.

Requirements
  • Post-graduate degree with knowledge of chemistry (preferably pharmaceuticals/chemical engineering) with 2-4 years experience.
  • Familiarity with product development principles, formulation science, material science, claims, and consumer testing.
  • Understanding of R&D processes and protocols, including stability protocols and formulation assessments.
  • Tech savvy with digital tools and platforms.
  • Good knowledge of biology, formulation design, and claims/CTI experience for personal care products.
  • Digital savviness and data-driven approach essential.
  • Basic understanding of analytical methods and microbiology.
  • Excellent spoken English and presentation skills required.
  • Good interpersonal skills and teamwork.
  • Agile, proactive, and enthusiastic working style.
