Job Description

As a senior engineer at a leading infrastructure firm, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments of existing bridges and preparing assessment reports with expertise in steel composite and pretension/posttension structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair.
  • Preparing new bridge design and strengthening design to UK standards ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards.
  • Carrying out design and assessment checks under the guidance of a senior or principal engineer.
  • Preparing or assisting others in compiling drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within given deadlines.

Additional responsibilities include following QA, document control, archiving, and CDM guidelines on all work, ensuring correct implementation of document control and QA processes are followed for issue and filing/archiving of all work carried out.

You should have excellent technical skills in MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM, ARCHIE and experience with calculation templates, as well as excellent communication and team-working skills.

Other essential skills include continually striving to develop and increase skills in design software, sharing knowledge with colleagues, participating in team meetings and learning sessions to disseminate information within the team, and communicating with other teams.
